Kelly Geagan, LMHC (she/her)

I'm Kelly, a licensed mental health counselor with over two decades of experience in human services, and I specialize in supporting diverse populations, with a focus on BIPOC and queer individuals.

I was fortunate enough to receive an undergraduate education taught from an Afro-centric perspective, which helped form the foundation of my anti-racist, anti-oppressive approach. I was taught to critically analyse my own privileges and biases, and because of this I recognize the importance of addressing inequalities, particularly in mental health services.

I have experience supporting clients and families as they navigate oppressive systems, and I recognize the impact that living within these systems can have on an individual's mental wellness. I also call on my lived experience as a therapist within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to bring perspective and understanding to my practice.

I have many years of experience helping clients deal with trauma, and I provide empathetic support while validating individual experiences and feelings. No matter what my clients' therapy goals are, I incorporate culturally informed and social-justice focused practices into my work, which allows me to provide them with the care they deserve.

I want each of my clients to leave each session feeling empowered to be themselves and take up space, and I would be happy to discuss how I can support you on your healing journey toward empowerment and resilience.
